Now that cross country has been done for a month, I should probably get my recap of the season up π
I found this year that as much as I love running, I don’t really like racing twice a week. I like leisurely runs much more than practically sprinting for 20 minutes!
At the finals, every school in the Upper Peninsula was there. There were 3 divisions and my school was in Division 1.
I got 4th place and my time was 20:04! So close to breaking 20… It was a very hard course though, so on most other courses I would’ve been in the 19’s!
Times (we run 5k’s):
8/29: 21:08
9/4: 23:03 (the course was long!)
9/10: 21:12
9/14: 15:44 (4K)
9/21: 20:28
9/24: 20:27
9/28: 21:17
10/3: 20:52
10/10: 20:11 (conference)
10/19: 20:03 (finals)

I usually go long distance, so I’m definitely not that fast. I’ve tried to run cross county once when I went to the states, and I loved it! It is such a shame we can’t do cross country in Denmark π

That’s too bad you can’t do cross country in Denmark! Yes, I’m running next year! Track will start in the spring, then cross country next fall!

Congratulations! I got 3rd this year and it was only a 1.5 km run π the two years before that I came 1st so it was a little weird not finishing in first but it was a fun race. I can NOT believe that you have to run 5km for the cross country race! WOW I’ve ran 2 5km’s but not at cross country
Great job Emily!! A 5k actually seems short to me.. I’m used to much longer runs! π
