I had a marvelous weekend filled with lots of friends, food, and fun. Let’s recap!
On Friday I went to a scrimmage with my basketball team. We played really well, and I am so excited for our first game next Tuesday! We stopped on the way home for food and I bought a Pumpkin Pie Clif Bar. Please buy one of these before the season ends, they won’t be here long! Soo yummy. It tasted just like pumpkin pie!
My friend bought and shared yogurt covered pretzels. They’re considered healthy since they’re covered in yogurt, right? π
Saturday morning =
cuddles <3
After my toast I headed out for my weekly long run. It….. did not happen. I was in 30 mph winds, plus 20 degree weather. Somehow I still did 5 miles. No idea how.
To be completely honest when I got home I cried. Being cold, not being able to finish, and just the stress of the week was too much. I felt much better after! Sometimes a good cry is all you need.
I went to church, then headed over to my friend Taylor’s house! I was looking forward to it all week. We had plans to cook! Guess what she ate for dinner on Friday. Bear. True yooper right there! We were both starving, so we started right away. After the longest hour and 20 minutes ever, this was ready:
Chicken Lasagna! We may or may not have eaten half of the pan. Don’t underestimate the appetite of two teenage girl basketball players.
Dessert:
Peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. They were just as good as they sound. I’m currently hiding the ones I took home from my mom. (Mom, pretend you didn’t read this π )
Gotta love that flash!
I went to bed with a full belly and I really didn’t think I would be able to eat breakfast! When we woke up though, I was starving. Like what?! I’m not complaining, lol! Another excuse to cook!
Look at how perfect. We used a recipe very similar to my pancake recipe. What can I say, it’s the basic Yooper recipe!
I stacked all three of them, Taylor ate them one at a time. Weirdo.
She quit on me after 2 pancakes. Sad day. I finished all 3 of mine. (Mine were also bigger π ) Sunnie, we won’t forget to invite you next time! Anyone else want to come too? Taylor and I have decided to make this a once a week occurrence.
Other Sunday shenanigans:
Run with cousin Laura. The weather was MUCH more cooperative! I was even sweating at the end.
Wasn’t too hungry for lunch. I wonder why. Needed some fuel for open gym though!
Cheesesticks for dinner. What happens when neither Mom nor I want to cook.
Well, if you made it all the way through this post, congrats! I am definitely looking forward to this two day school week.
What was the best part of your weekend? Make any good food?!
Happy Monday!

Your pancakes look heavenly!!!!!!!! And cold-weather+stress is not the best combo, so I totally understand the good cry. Everybody needs one! π

Your PANCAKES <3 Mmmmmmm. A good cry is exactly what we all need sometimes- I had one on Friday! And of course, I felt better after π

They were amazing!! Crying really does make us feel better – it gets rid of all the bad thoughts!
The pumpkin pie bars are SO good! And jeez, I’m impressed you even made it out the door in 20 degree weather! Heck, I wouldn’t have made it out of bed!

Hahaha! I’m surprised too – I gotta get used to it though if I’m gonna run at all this winter!
Your garmin is the cutest I’ve ever seen. I’m sorry about the run- we all have bad runs sometimes π The next one will be better! My run yesterday during 20 degree weather was terrible. I went so slow and I was so numb, but it had been 3 weeks and I desperately needed to run. Even the bad runs, when looking back on them, tend to seem pretty okay.

She hasn’t said anything about it yet, so I don’t think she read this post π
Looks like so much fun! I can’t wait to have a pancake partay π
That would be awesome! π
Those pancakes look soooo good. I probably would have eaten a lot of them too π As for feeling stressed, I am there with ya sister. College has been a lot of fun, but very stressful. Last week I had my hardest midterm and several papers due.. let’s just say a few tears may have left my eyes here and there! I hope that everything is going well for you! Oh and I think that my sister has the same pj pants as you, super random π
