First of all, a big thank you to all our veterans on this Veteran’s Day. Thank you for serving our country!

This year I decided that I wanted to plant my very own garden and grow my own produce. I found out that my step-grandpa has a humongous garden that he grows every year. How perfect! He gave me my own little section and I was off to work!
He told me what to plant where and how to plant the seeds.
The next time I went back, there were little sproutlings!
Now don’t think everything just magically grew. Kalvin (my grandpa) watered everything for me! I just had to do the weeding….
I grew everything you can think of – beans, peas, carrots, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers, kale, broccoli, and cauliflower!
And now some close ups of the crops!
I probably planted a little too much. I was eating beans for days!
I did sell some at the farmer’s market!
I’m so thankful that I experienced my first year of gardening and I look forward to many more! A huge thanks goes out to Grandpa Kalvin. Without his help I’d have never had such a marvelous garden!
Do you grow your own produce?

You totally should! It tastes so much better when it’s your own π
No way!!! #dreamcometrue
All your crops are gorgeous. I grow tomatoes every year π I have to start branching into onions and other kinds of plants though! YuM!

How lucky that you had so much space for your garden! Nothing like fresh home grown vegetables, great work!

I am SO lucky. Veggies always taste better when you grew them yourself! π
That is so cool! Sadly, our awful soil in our yard kills everything π
