Hey everyone! Miss Zippy is hosting a linkup about your year in running and I thought it would be super fun to fill out!
Best race experience?
I would say the Cellcom Half Marathon! It was my first half marathon and I did better than I would have ever expected – first in my age group! It was organized so well and I had so much fun!
Best run?
The best one I can remember was here. It was right after cross country season ended and it felt great to get out with no plan or pressure! Not to mention the weather was perfect and I ran on a beautiful trail.
Best new piece of gear?
The only thing I got this year were new shoes, but I’m getting a Garmin for Christmas. Since that’s still in 2013, that will be my best new piece of gear!
Best piece of running advice you received?
A cross country coach from another team told me to keep my back straight and not hunch over. My times improved so much and I wasn’t as tired during the race! I will remember this tip forever.
Most inspirational runner?
Definitely Janae at The Hungry Runner Girl! She went through some super hard times this year yet her running is still improving. I look forward to reading her posts every day!
If you could sum up your year in a couple words, what would they be?
Loved it more and more every day. This is really the first year I got serious about running and now I can’t imagine life without it. I’m so happy I found something I love and I hope to do it forever!
Other highlights of the year:
Heritage Half Marathon (pr!)
Firecracker 5 Mile (pr!)
Lake Antoine 15k (pr!)
And I had an amazing cross country season!
This was the first year of what I hope to be many more of running! I’m so thankful I found a love to run. Here’s to many more years!

This makes me miss running! I’ve been doing more strength training and HIIT workouts so it’s been a while since my last “long” run. I definitely fell in love with running all over again earlier this year though. It’s almost therapeutic. I love it.

It is definitely therapeutic! One of my friends from cross country started doing strength and he pr’ed at the Turkey Trot in the blizzard! He said he gained 10 pounds since the season ended yet he’s so much faster!
