Hey guys, Happy Saturday! Snow days like yesterday are awesome. An extra seven hours to do whatever I please? Perfect. It actually ended up being a really sunny day! It’s kind of a tradition that whenever we have a snow day my mom and I go to town and go out for lunch. She’s a teacher so she gets snow days too.
I already had my breakfast in the fridge so I didn’t have to do much for this:
I didn’t run yesterday because I needed a day off. I hadn’t taken one for over a week and I was feelin’ sooore. Twenty minutes of yoga was the extent of my movement yesterday, and I was totally okay with that!
Needing something to fill my usual running time, I resorted to the camera. I updated the Meet My Cats page with some new pics of the babies!
And then it was time to get goin’. There’s a fairly new restaurant in town that closes at 4 so I can’t go there on regular school days. It has some vegan and vegetarian options along with homemade pies and muffins. I love it!
This was a spanakopita (quiche), salad with pomegranate dressing, and almond poppy seed muffin. It was all amazing.
And since we were less than a block away from my other favorite restaurant I had to get a scone.
Then we had some errands to do. I cashed my first check(!!) and had to sign my name. Add that to finishing Drivers Ed, I’m pretty much an adult now! π We did some grocery shopping too. Heads up, I have a post planned in the near future for my grocery essentials!
Around 6 we got hungry for dinner. Usually we eat around 5:30 so it was a little odd to eat that late. We’ve been wanting to make fish tacos since, like, ever, and last night was finally the night. It’s one of those things that you always want but never actually end up making. There’s so many recipes for fish tacos it’s impossible to pick one! So one of my mom’s coworkers gave her a recipe and we made them. WHY had I never had a fish taco?! They were so good!!!
It’s a good thing we only made enough for four tacos because I would’ve eaten about six by myself.
YUM.
The rest of the night was spent lounging on the couch. I also finally bought a macro lens! I’ve been using the lens my camera came with and I knew that I’d eventually want to get a good lens. I ended up buying the EF 50mm f/1.8 II, thanks to Abbie‘s suggestion. I mean, now that we have the same lens my pictures will be as good as hers right?! π
And that was my day. I’m not really sure why I wanted to post this, but “it’s my blog and I can do what I want to!” So yeah. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Aww love the kitties! They’re so cute!
And all that delicious looking food? YES PLEASE. The glaze on the scone looks to die for and I’m a huge fan of fish tacos :).
I use a 50mm lens for my food photography too! I got it just a month ago and am in love with it π

The glaze MAKES the scone. So good <3
I remember when you got that lens! Maybe my pics will look like yours now too π I wish!
Our love for cats and food always makes me feel like we would get along perfectly. I LOVE your meet my cats page. I should do that with my blog (you’re my blog inspiration!). I just ate my own bowl of oatmeal that was quite delicious, but it suddenly seems inadequate after seeing your delicious bowl of goodness! I took a rest day yesterday too! I did crossfit and running the day before, and I woke up feeling like I got hit by a truck. Yeah, time to take a rest day! I hope you have a lovely weekend! xx

The spanakopita was SO good. It had spinach and feta and a ton of layers of thin crust!
