I don’t think I could have asked for a better cross country season this year. I had two goals:
1. Break 20 minutes.
2. Win a race.
I managed to do both of these twice, the second time being the finals! In no way did I ever expect to win but I guess all my hard work really did pay off. It motivates me to train even harder next year to see how fast I can be!
Here is a look at my times throughout the year. (here is last year’s recap!)
8/28: 20:59
9/9: 21:10
9/13: 20:56
9/20: 20:48
9/23: 20:10
9/30: 19:53 (first time breaking 20! also the home meet)
10/4: 20:20 (first time winning a race)
10/9: 20:48
10/18: 19:52
And some pictures!
I have so many more but all running pictures are basically the same… me trying to smile with woods in the background. I do have one more… my wonderful coaches! Thank you guys for being at practice every day and for all the memories from cross country!
It’s weird to think that I’m halfway done with my high school cross country career. What’s really cool is that the finals get to be at my home course for the next two years!
Time to start basketball season π
ps Happy Birthday Rachel! π Welcome to the Teenager World!

Thanks Brie! I sure hope so π
You always seem to have a smile on your face during your races and I love that! It shows that you really love the sport:) Way to go!!
Thanks Faith! Trust me, I only smile when I see the camera, lol π but yes, I do really love running!
Congratulations on an amazing season! I love your running pictures; you look so relaxed and happy! I never seem to see the photographer when I’m running. I hope to break 20 minutes this season, too! If not, that’s okay, but it doesn’t hurt to set high goals, does it?
Thank you! I think you should totally shoot for sub-20. You never know how you could surprise yourself!
I love your season recap! It’s so cool that you won a race – middle of the pack Liz is a bit jealous here π
… Which reminds me, I need to get mine up too!
Hahaha thanks Liz! π I can’t wait to read your recap!
I’m so incredibly proud of you girl! I just finished my LAST cross country season ever. WHAT?! I’m so glad you set goals and had such an amazing season. It flies by, so I’m happy to see how you’ve loved every single second. And winning a race? YESSSSS! I’ve been so insanely busy with college apps lately that I’ve hardly had the time to comment on your blog, but I have been reading it. Your fashion taste and recipes never cease to amaze me. Your vegan noodles are already on our menu for this week! I seriously can’t wait to see your fall fashion too because fall and fashion are two of my favorite things, and I’m sure you’ll amaze me with your taste in fashion! xx
(P.S. I’m finishing up all my apps in the next two weeks, so expect a TON of comments in the foreseeable future!)
Aww Kath, thanks girl! I really miss your kind and thoughtful comments but I totes understand how insanely busy you are right now. It’s crazy you’re done with cross country forever!! Is there a possibility of a half (or full!) in your future?! I really want to do a full marathon but I think I’ll wait until I’m out of high school!
What a season. Congrats on reaching you goal twice. You are seriously so cool!
Thank you, Josefine! π
