WIAW… it’s been a long time!
Yesterday was a snow day! I woke up before my alarm even went off (that never happens) so I went out for a short run before the sun even rose. I only needed 3 layers π
I lied on Monday when I said basketball is starting. Practice has been cancalled the past two days so the real season starts today!
I took advantage of being able to make an actual breakfast yesterday. My bus brings me to school at 7:30 so I usually take my overnight oats with me and eat them there.
Bob’s Red Mill Hot Cereal, quinoa flakes, banana, soy butter, Nuttzo, and chia seeds with a green smoothie made of 1/2 banana, big handful spinach, almond milk and water, and organic protein powder. I could eat this everyday!
My regular high school was cancelled but I still had to go to my college class. Before that I finished off a container of sunbutter with an apple and some spinach!
Does anyone else just eat right from the spinach container with their snacks? I do it all the time!
I was still a little hungry and knew I wouldn’t be able to make it through my class and shopping after so I had this:
Leftover mexican quinoa scooped up with a few chips and some guac!
After school and grocery shopping (and the Verizon store) I was super hungry and was happy to have this in the fridge ready to be heated up! Lately I’ve been using pans on the stovetop rather than the microwave. It makes me feel old fashioned π
Can’t wait to post the recipe!
I got snacky a little while later for some carrots + a couple chips with guac.
And dinner…
Oh yes. Chicken wild rice soup in homemade bread bowls!! Well, semi-homemade. The dough was from my work (I work at a pizza place) but I did the forming and rising. And they were amazing. The soup was a little bland but with a little salt sprinkled on it was good!
That’s all I’ve got today! I’ll leave you with a picture I took of Cleo yesterday π
What do you typically eat for breakfast?
Do you heat things in the microwave or on the stove?

Looks like a good snow day! π Do you just snack on the spinach plain? If so, I’m impressed! Haha

Yeah, I just take a bite of apple then a little handful of spinach. Kind of like a deconstructed salad! π
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I can’t wait for snow! Living in Florida for 4 years has gotten me really excited for seeing snowflakes this winter. And it’s nice that I don’t have to drive in it living in NYC. Yay for the subway! All your food looks amazing. Way to go on homemade bread bowls!!
It’s not even the snow I don’t like, it’s the freezing temps!! Have you ever tried cross country skiing? You should take that up!
I was originally going to compliment on how delicious your breakfast bowl looks, but dang that dinner is looking pretty good as well. What a perfect snow day of meals!
The soup totally hit the spot for a comfort snow day meal π thanks, Jessie!
That is a glorious bowl of hot cereal!
I love the homemade bread bowls! Haha, I remeber eating them at Panera bread (pre-celiac!)
I have never had Panera’s bread bowl! Now I’m craving another one. lol!
I can’t believe you’ve already had a snow day! All your eats look amazing per usual π
Thanks girly π
That brussel sprouts dish looks awesome! I’m looking forward to that recipe π
It’s SO tasty. I’ve gotta get my act together and edit the photos!
Your pictures are great!! I was admiring each one and drooling over all the food. Looks like it was a nice snowy day and you had the perfect warm and nutritious meals to go with it.
Thanks, Mattie! It was a really nice day π snow days are perfect for relaxing!
Wauw, snow already?! That’s crazy. The fall is so mild here. I kinda doubt we’ll ever have winter π But I miss it!
Everything looks so delicious in this post! Now I’m hungry
You can always come visit me in Michigan π thanks, love!
I’m always nervous about running in the dark, otherwise I would definitely run before school!
I want to run before school, but I just can’t get up that early haha
Wow great eats! Your meals are super creative and give me alot of inspiration!
Thanks! I love WIAW to get inspiration from others π
Yay for overnight oats but snow already, ugh man… so soon π I’m not ready yet!
I know… the only good thing is getting to cross country ski soon!
Wowza to all of that snow!! It’s pretty though! I love the picture of Cleo and your lunch looks amazing! Can’t wait to see that recipe :).
I like heating stuff up in the microwave, but sometimes I’m all about the stove–mostly for soup! Now I want to make soup… π
Oh, soup heated up on the stovetop is SO much better! The microwave makes it heat all uneven.. bleh. Happy Friday, Allie! π
I really love that last pic of Cleo! So cute! And those bread bowls look amazingggg
They were sooo good. Like omg craving them again!!
