It’s been a long time since I did a weekend recap post! It was a pretty eventful one so I thought I’d post some pictures I took these past few days.
Friday
I had a quiz bowl game which means we get to go out for lunch! We tried a new spot called Aubree’s Pizzeria. Um, YES.
from my Instagram
BAT Grilled Cheese (bacon on the side) with a cup of tomato bisque and a big basket of sweet potato fries. Has anyone ever had Boursin cheese?! omg. It’s my new love.
Deep Fried Brownie Bites for dessert. I died. And will be recreating soon.
Didn’t do anything else on Friday except this 1000 Rep Workout and I’m still sore. I want to start getting more into strength stuff so feel free to send me some of your faves!
Saturday
Started the day off with a run. Always a good time with this dude.
Quiche and green smoothie for refueling!
Went to watch the little brother’s basketball game.
So much cuteness.
Then I went to a youth retreat for my church! It was a great time to just relax and enjoy the time away from all of life’s problems (because I have so many of them:). It reminded me again of how much of a blessed life I live and how the best way to be happy is to be kind, generous, and unselfish in everything.
That night we prayed the Stations of the Cross outside. It was cold, but it wasn’t nearly as bad when I thought about the pain that Jesus went through for us!
Sunday
It was a great time with friends and I even met some new ones! (Hi Megan:)
Had some warm banana bread a la mom when I got home then did this yoga video.
I went to a Superbowl party for a little while then did some face masks, and now I’m ready for Snowcoming Week!
Tell me the truth, what do you guys think about random life posts? I feel kind of weird just posting about my weekend, even though that’s all the blog used to be! I feel like there’s no purpose for a post if I don’t post a recipe or anything of real importance. Be honest! π
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine says
Can’t even handle those sweet potato fries π
Leigha says
Ohhhh I know. They hurt a little bit to chew but I pushed through π
I love your “life” posts! It’s nice learning more about the girl behind the amazing food π
GIRL that lunch looks so dreamy. I want it alllllll.
And hooray for strength training! Nutrition Nut on the Run, Peanut Butter Fingers, Fit Foodie Finds, The Fitnessista, and The Lean Green Bean all have amazing strength training workouts!
Or I could just go to ANY of your Weekly Moves & Grooves posts and pick a workout from there! π
my those sweet potatoes fries look fine!!!! π and I like these type of posts every so often π xx
I agree- every so often they’re fine, but I want to make sure they’re not all that I post! π
I think it’s fun to see occasional posts that are peaks into other bloggers lives (especially since you’re in high school — that’s a decade ago for me and it’s crazy to flashback like that!). Also, any post that introduces me to deep fried brownie bites is NOT a wasted post.
Hahaha, one of the main reasons I had this post was so I could share pictures of that dessert and the fries π I have been meaning to do a “Day in the Life” post for quite some time now. I think people would like that!
I love seeing what your day to day life looks like! Keep these posts coming.
So much good food and fellowship.
And…I’ve been starting to do yoga more lately so I’m going to have to try out that workout you posted!
I always wonder why I don’t do yoga 24/7. It makes me feel so good!
Everything about that restaurant looks SO unbelievably delicious!!
It was amazing! I’ll definitely be going back π
Your brother is the cutest <3 I cannot get over it!
The youth retreat sounds awesome. I'm so bummed because the weekend that my church is having one is the weekend before Dance Theatre, so I can't go π Sorry to sound ignorant, but what is the Stations of the Cross prayer? I've never heard of it before.
Oh no! At least your’e missing it for something that’s fun! The Stations of the Cross depicts the way Jesus was crucified in 14 sections, so to say. It’s really interesting!
I personally LOVE weekend recap posts. I love seeing how bloggers “normal” lives are.
Haha, I feel like people don’t care to hear about my life π
Oh I really love such posts π It is always nie to hear what the blogger behind the blog does when she is not blogging
Looks like a wonderful weekend .- that pizza place sounds wonderful.
Also, I realy like the fact that I get all of your answers to my comments send to my inbox – what plugin do you use? π
