It’s not just the games that I love about basketball season. One of my favorite parts of being a part of the team is all the team dinners we have. No joke – last week we had a meal together on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I love it.
Team dinners are a way to spend time with the girls while not being at practice. They’re a time to relax, tell stories, get to know each other more, and most importantly…EAT! You usually have them before a big game, which totally makes it necessary to load up on carbs π
I didn’t have school on Monday (thank you, George Washington!) but we had a game later that day, so at precisely 10 A.M. everyone came over to Leelee’s house for brunch!
On the menu… homemade cinnamon rolls, pancakes, spinach and mushroom quiche, sausage, fruit, cheesy potatoes, chocolate milk, and smoothies! I wanted to have green smoothies buuut I got turned down. π
Great food, great team, great time. β₯ The best part is that we won our game! There’s only three regular season games left and then it’s time for districts (and hopefully regionals and so on!). I can’t believe how fast the season went by. I feel like I was just playing in my first varsity game and now it’s almost over! Time does fly when you’re having fun. Before I sign off I just wanted to share a quote from our team book that I think really hits the spot for us. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a quick inspirational read! It might just change your life… it definitely changed mine.

I’ll talk to you guys soon! I have some really fun posts planned coming up… just have to get them written! π

Thanks!! It was a great time π
Aw team dinners (and brunches) sounds like so much fun! There is just something special about being together with your team – and something special about sharing a meal π
I agree – sharing a meal with people definitely brings you closer!
Hello Leigha,
Great website, by the way. I’ve been reading for awhile now (just “quietly”). I would love to try out the recipe for these Cinnamon Rolls featured here in your brunch. However, when I went to your “Recipes” page, I only saw that you listed “Pecan Rolls” and those don’t look the same. Can you email me these Cinnamon Rolls recipe or put it on that “Recipes” page?
Thank you!
Hi Alison!
Thank you so much! As for the cinnamon rolls recipe, it’s one that I’m working on to post to the recipes page. I didn’t exactly measure when I made those ones, but I have a pretty good idea about what I used and I just sent you an email! π
Eating with the team is THE BEST. Especially when the food is really great and the company is even better. I really want to be on your basketball team now. My season just ended, and I”m totally in withdrawal mode. π
Ahhh I want to know about your season!! This is our last week of regular season games then next week is Districts. I don’t know what I’m gonna do without my team when the season is over!
