I made it to Lansing! I got here a few hours ago and finally have wifi so I can post Iโm on a school trip for Youth in Government and will be gone until Sunday. Iโll talk more about that when I do a recap of it, but for today I have something that Iโve been waiting to share for over a month now.
I think itโs taken me so long to write about this because I was waiting for the right words to come that could fully express the incredible time I had. I still donโt have those words, but instead of waiting for them to come Iโm just going to share right now because thereโs no sense in holding these back. Youโll just have to trust me that if you want an experience that will change your life, go ice climbing at Michigan Ice Fest.
Pictures are definitely more helpful than words, so just enjoy! The pictures are mostly chronological so you can feel like youโre there with me. It was a long day full of so much fun!

I was honored to be the winner of the Sue Nott Scholarship. I want to give a HUGE thank you to Ms. Anderson for telling me about it and giving me a place to stay! I wouldnโt have had this experience without you and Iโm so thankful for being a part of your life!
Not only was the climbing what made my experience so great but all of the amazing ladies I met. There was just so many neat and interesting people there. Everywhere I turned I was talking to someone new who had an amazing story to tell.
Soup definitely hit the spot after a day of being outside in the snow.
I seriously canโt recommend enough that everyone should attend Ice Fest sometime in their lives. I didnโt even know what ice climbing was until I went, but now I feel like Iโm part of that breed of people (kind of like runners!). I have no doubt that someday Iโll move up to the big summits, but for now Iโll just stick with the small ones. See you next year, Ice Fest!
This looks like so much fun
I love climbing anything and everything, so Michigan Ice Fest may make its way onto my bucket list
