Yesterday while sitting on the swing in the backyard looking at the ice, enjoying the ray of sunshine poking through, Mom and I decided to head up to Marquette for a night of dinner and shopping.
We went to the Portside Inn for dinner.. lights, why you gotta be so orange?
But the cheese stuff that came with the breadsticks? I die.
We walked around downtown a little bit.
And had dessert at Babycakes β₯
Carrot cake… yes.The shopping was pretty successful too – I got these skinny sweatpants I have been wanting forever and some new staging stuff!
As for some other life updates…
I got a haircut! Much needed and the hairs feel so healthy.
My new cookbooks came in the mail! I can’t wait to start cooking with them. Although what usually happens is I get so caught up in looking at them I run out of time to actually make something and just end up eating something already in the fridge π
And finally…
I’m so excited to announce my partnering with Larabar! This year I was selected to be an ambassador and I couldn’t be more excited. I absolutely love all of their values and how simple their ingredients are! I guess I won’t have to make my homemade Larabars for some time since I’ve got this stash π
That’s about all I’ve got for now! I may have a post up tomorrow, but if I don’t, I hope everyone has a lovely Easter!! I’m thinking mine will involve some brunch, egg hunting, dinner, and family time. Talk to you guys soon!

Um… I don’t think I should have that recipe. lol π thank you!!
LovE LOVE LOVE the photos of Marquette, thanks – I can feel the crisp clean air off the lake as I read. YUM!!Babycakes!! miss their lattes so much – IMO the BEST in the country. Seeking a replacement but no success as yet. Thanks for a visit ‘home’
I want to try one of their lattes! And their kale caesar salad. And basically everything π I love Babycakes!
I am so envious of all those LARABARS! Care to share some?
Haha! Not right now π but maybe a giveaway sometime in the future!!
Sounds like a wonderful day! And I love those skinny sweatpants – I seriously want some too π
Ahh I am in love! They are SO comfy!
I absolutely LOVE seeing a bit more behind your daily life and living vicariously through you through your photos ;). I actually have those exact milk bottles! Dod you get them at World Market? And allll those bars!! Swooning!
TJ Maxx!! Obsessed with all of their food/props/clothes π Right?! Still a little bit in shock!
Love the haircut π
Thanks!! π
There’s no better feeling than a fresh haircut!!! I only get my hair cut about twice per year so by the time I actually go, I’m really needing a cut! My favorite pizza topping is definitely mushrooms. I love them!
P.S. If you hop over to my blog today, I nominated you for the Liebster Award!
Mushrooms, yes <3 my favorite too!
Thank you so much Sam!! That made my day π
Love your hair cut! You can really tell the difference! I always love getting a good trim. It makes my hair feel so good and less “straggley,” as I like to call it haha. I love looking at cookbooks, too! I check them out from the library sometimes, and by the time they’re due again, I usually just get through looking at them!
It looks like you had a fun evening with your mom! My favorite pizza toppings are mushrooms and tomatoes!
Have you ever read Bread and Wine by Shauna Niequist? I think you’d really like it! It’s sort of a story with recipes sprinkled through – one of my favorite books.
Thanks Allie! I hope you’re doing well!
