Going to bed past midnight and getting up at 7 is what’s gonna happen during YIG, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything during the week. I don’t know what I love so much about it, but Youth in Government continues to amaze me with the incredible time I have.
All of the people you meet, bonding with people from your school, being in the state’s capital (and Capitol), trying all of the restaurants… there is never a moment of boredom or gloom. The whole week it’s like I’m high on life!
I was in the Electronic Press this year so I went around with my group and took news videos. This is one that we made!

And here are a bunch of pictures that I took! We left Wednesday morning and got home Sunday afternoon. It’s a long time to be gone but those days went by so fast it’s unreal. I’m going to do a separate post on the food because there was SO MUCH it needs it’s own. You can also read last year’s YIG post! Back home! (well.. two hours away:) the whole bus ride is 7 hours!) It did feel nice to be back in my own bed and make green smoothies – a girl can only eat out for so many meals. Overall it was such a fun experience and I am so blessed to be able to do things like this. I’m already excited for next year!
