We did a lot of eating in California.
I love eating.
Starbucks
I finally had Starbucks for the first time while in San Fran. Our hotel came with breakfast tickets so each morning I got a drink, fruit, and pastry!
It is overpriced but I’m a fan. Anything with chai and I’m good.
Tartine
This was a place I looked up before going and knew I wanted to go to. A big group of us went after November Project and it was one of my favorite meals!
What I got: quiche of the day (asparagus & chard?) and the famous morning bun with cinnamon sugar and candied orange. They were both amazing but expensive! $9.95 for both.
Jane
Another post-NP brunch. An adorable little cafe that had a ton of choices I wanted to try – walnut & fig bread, gf quinoa bread, homemade granola…
I had sourdough with avocado, shallot, soft-boiled egg, and picked jalapeno but I was wishing I got the peanut butter banana toast! I don’t really like pickled flavor.
Boudin
Another place I had on my list to try. I mean they are famous for creating soup in a bread bowl!
I got tomato soup in a sourdough bread bowl and a spring salad. I wanted clam chowder but didn’t know if I’d like it!
Cafe Bellini
(I remembered the name of this by going on Google Maps, street view, location, and looking at the sign!)
Our first night in the city we stopped here for a late dinner. I got salmon quiche and a simple salad. While we were eating the Warriors won the NBA Finals… it got crazy! When we went outside the streets were riots with people cheering. It was awesome.
Black Point Cafe & Bakery
Our first lunch in the city near Ghiradelli Square.
I got the special of the day which had peaches, walnuts, goat cheese and a champagne dressing. It was a good size too! The other two salads are the cobb.
Ghiradelli
Big ol’ hot fudge/salted caramel sundae. <3
Naan-n-Curry
Definitely the most memorable meal of the trip.
It was a late night and we just wanted some quick food so we went to the Indian place across the street from our hotel. I got chana masala and my grandma and aunt got biryani. We all got a side of naan.
Apparently Indian food is spicy?!?!
Really spicy.
We didn’t get a ton to eat that night and I’m pretty sure I had abs from laughing so hard. One of those “you had to be there” nights.
Lori’s Diner
Another late night meal! After midnight back at home time.
Homemade gnocchi in mushroom sauce YUM.
Farmer’s Market
Not including the pounds of fresh peaches, plums, nectarines, figs, cheese, omg so good.
Organic eggs, beans, salsa, chips, queso fresco, avocado
“Secret Breakfast” ice cream flavor – bourbon and cornflakes. Amazing.
Ben & Jerry’s
They had me sample like all the flavors.
A Sushi Place
Puccini & Pinetti
Fancy fancy.
Probs the best bruschetta of my life.
With room for dessert of course!
