School starts in TWO days. I’ve still got so much to share from summer! This is where we left off after my last post.
Back in July I spent a week at Michigan Tech for Women in Computer Science camp! Last summer I went to Women in Engineering and this was similar but with a focus on the fields of computer science. It’s something I’m really considering going into so it was great to get an idea what it’d be like to study computer science.
I met so many new friends and spent time exploring the beautiful Keweenaw peninsula! Of course I took lots of pictures ?
Campus
We sat on computers for a big part of the day and while I do love being on the computer, I’m not sure if it’s what I want to do for a career. I kind of can’t sit still for long periods of time. And I like to interact with people.
Our main project for the week was to design an app so my partner and I (hi Anna!) made a pocket dictionary of basic words to know in different languages. Mrs. Ott was our instructor for the week!
And here are lots of pictures π
Picnic at McLain State Park
There were 36 of us in WiCS but a group from Engineering Scholars Program was also at Tech the same week.. this is all of us!

It was another great week at Tech and I’m a huge fan of their Summer Youth Programs. Here is the link to a list of programs they offer in you’re interested! I’d highly recommend them π
Happy Labor Day Weekend! Whether you camped, stayed home, or went on one last summer trip, I hope it was a good one:)

Thanks girl! I am so lucky to have all these experiences!
It looks like you had an AMAZING time! Kyle is studying to be an engineer (he’s a 4th year mechanical engineer who’s going to probably get his masters in materials) and would be happy to help if you have any engineering questions! Love all those gorgeous photos you’ve been taking as well. Keep em’ coming! π
Ahh that would be sweet! I’ll let ya know if I come up with any π thanks girl!
Looks like a GREAT time! You are just GLOWING! I sure hope my DDs get to do something like that when they are your age (Many years fr now). Happy back to school!
