Does this bread look a little weird to you? Like discolored or anything? That’s because it is.
Something in this bread gives it that pinkish tint, kind of making it look like raw meatloaf.
The secret: using TOMATO SAUCE as the liquid! For real. I was skeptical, but I have a lot of faith in the Red Star Yeast recipes. And it didn’t disappoint me. I literally put two cups of sauce, bread flour, a little parmesan, and a package of yeast into my bread machine and let it mix and rise. I let it rise again in a bread pan and baked it, and BOOM, four ingredient tomato basil bread.
I’ve never had flavor like this in bread! It’s like you’re eating pasta… but you’re not. I always run out of sauce to dip my bread in, but that’s not a problem with this because it’s already infused with a jar of sauce!
As for me lately, I’m on Christmas break for a few more glorious days. Basketball is in full swing. I ran 10 miles the other day! But to be honest, I haven’t been cooking at ALL and am not feeling too inspired to create recipes. I’m sure it will come back. Right now I’m content with not sharing my life on the internet. I almost feel weird writing about it… like do people really want to hear about it? ? lol.
