How’s that title for repetition? Lots of D’s going on. What’s your favorite D-word? Mine is donuts <3 we had them at church today! I spent a lot of time with my dad yesterday since he’s going to Florida on Thursday (not fair..). We had a ton of good eats too!
I started the day with my usual weekend breakfast: egg scramble with spinach, tomato, and onion and toast.
Then I took my dad out cross country skiing for his first time ever! We covered about 2 miles. He did a lot better than I did my first time!
We went out to lunch at my favorite place – Stone’s!
I tried something new. Red wine and poppy seed chicken salad sandwich on homemade cranberry walnut bread. Hello new favorite! And a scone (duh).
Then I went on a quick run. And by quick I mean quick – I haven’t ran this fast in a long time! It’s nowhere near my cross country times but it’s an improvement from most of this winter! Plus it was super icy.
Then I went out to dinner with my dad, step-mom, and her family (remember Kelvin?). It was fancy place – I went there back in December!
We started with salads. I forgot to say no bacon… oh well!
I decided on the Whitefish Piccata – fresh Lake Michigan whitefish sauteed with mushrooms, capers, and lemon butter. Definitely something I would’ve never eaten in the past! The whitefish was really good, but I wasn’t crazy about the lemon butter. Does anyone else absolutely hate deciding what to order? I couldn’t decide between that or salmon.
The cauliflower? I could’ve eaten that as a meal alone. It was loaded with cheese and breadcrumbs… mmmm.
The real star was dessert. Carrot cake, yes please! With fresh whipped cream and a vanilla glaze icing <3 there is always room for dessert.
I got home pretty late and was exhausted. Eating makes me tired! I slept better last night than I’ve slept in months. Not even joking! Going to bed with a full belly makes for a restful night. I hope you’re all having a great weekend!

Nice speedy run there girl!! (: It’s so exciting that you are still able to run really fast despite the conditions. Your day with your dad sounds fantastic. I think it’s so much fun that you went cross country skiing!

My favorite fish I’ve had was from England! π And there’s too many good restaurants to pick a favorite. I’ve been totally slacking on running this year. I feel like I’ve only ran like 5 times. I’ve been sticking to Pilates mostly, but I’m really starting to miss more cardio and running!

Yeah, your fish from England looked SO yummy! I’ve never tried Pilates before. I wouldn’t know what to do lol! I didn’t run very much during basketball, and it made me realize how much I missed it! Now track starts soon so I’ll be running lots!
