Hello everyone! Bad Blogger Alert: I went on vacation and didn’t tell the internet! Technically it wasn’t a real vacation. I went on a trip with a group from school called Youth in Government. We got to go to Lansing and pretend that we were actual representatives and senators!
Everyday we started our meetings at 8. Meetings were either with our committees or in the House or Senate. I was in the Michigan committee and the House of Representatives! We would have a lunch break then more meetings until dinner. (The food will be another post!) Sometimes we had meetings after dinner, other nights we had fun things like a talent show and a dance!
The meetings were basically about passing bills. We had a huge bill book and we went through and made amendments and passed the good bills. We’d also debate on really controversial topics – I enjoyed that!

Youth in Government was so much fun. I met tons of new friends and I’m already excited for next year! The joke was how we got away from our life problems, yet we were all around the real world problems!

Ummm that looks like so much fun!! I would love to experience something like that – we’re visiting Washington DC some time soon, but I’m not sure it’d be the same as getting first-hand experience. π
