So. I think I’m all cool now, now that I have a fancy schmanzy camera.
I think you’re going to be seeing a lot more recipes here. Is that okay?
I guess I’m on a tuna kick. First the tuna cakes, now this tuna salad made with Greek yogurt that you can’t even tell is lightened up. You know what’s weird? I don’t even like tuna that much! In this recipe, the tuna flavor is definitely more prominent than in the cakes, but I still like it. (And I do not like fishy flavor.)
Do you want the recipe? π
- 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp mayo (I bet spicy mustard would work fabulous!)
- 1 5 oz can of tuna
- 1 small apple, diced
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 1 tsp chopped onion (I used a spice, otherwise you could use 1/4 of a real onion!)
- 1/4 tsp garlic salt
- salt & pepper
- lemon juice
- Chop the apple and celery. Add to a bowl
- Drain tuna and add it to the bowl.
- Add 1/4 cup of greek yogurt and 1 tbsp of mayo to the bowl.
- Add spices, salt & pepper, and lemon juice.
- Mix thoroughly and serve in pitas!
Is it just me? Or are pitas, like, totally impossible to photograph? Stupid unphotogenic little pockets of perfection.
I ate two of these for lunch and there’s about enough left for two more pitas. Let’s just say I’m excited for lunch today!
Have a fabulous Tuesday and try not to freeze in these temperatures! This tuna salad is sensational microwaved too, if you want something warm.
If you make this please let me know! You can leave a comment or tag me on Twitter or Instagram @theyoopergirl. It makes my day when people try my recipes!

Thanks Jess! Have a wonderful day π
I’ve never tried tuna. Part of me is scared to! I guess the whole coming from a can thing scares me. But the past two recipes you posted with it sound so good!

I have a hard time eating tuna just because I picture an ugly fish… if I don’t think about that then I can eat it! It does gross me out though haha
Ahh love the pictures! And the tuna salad looks absolutely delicious!

Made this for lunch! I used a wrap tortilla because I didn’t have pitas or bread! I loved it. Low calories, high protein! Thanks for the post.

This looks delicious and I’m going to attempt to make it. But I am not a fan of celery, can I change it to cucumber?
Definitely! Cucumber is a bit liquidy though, so watch out for water from the cucumber.
Had this recipe for lunch!! Amazzzing!! Thanks!
Woohooo!!! Thanks for telling me know, Veronica!
Hi,, Yooper Girl! I’m Sandra, a Looper Girl! (I made that up, I think we Lower Peninsulars need a catchy nick-name, as well!; maybe we already have one and I’m not ware of it.) Anyway, I just made this, Leigha; it was delish!! Because I am watching cholesterol, I used brown-rice macaroni, however, I plan to use pita another time–I know it will be incredible, as well. I also added peas, very good. Thank you for a fabulous, healthy recipe. Love your photos, by the way!
Hi Sandra Dee! I’m so glad you liked it π thank you for commenting! We do have a nickname for you that are under the bridge..trolls π brown rice macaroni sounds so good!
Made this today for lunch as i’m running out of time to cook. Found 2 cannned tuna in the pantry. Grab my phone and search tuna in Greek yogurt, and this is what popped out. Thank you! It’s taste so healthy even my picky eater loves it. ?
BTW, whats so interesting is what other people talk about your new camera, ?well, I’m in, lol. Picture perfect ?
Made this 3 days in a row for lunch , so good I didnβt have it with pita I had it on a bed of lettuce to make it even more low calorie
Thanks for the lunch inspiration! I love the addition of apples. I would have posted on my IG page but I made it at work in a paper plate π from @bytesofyum
